Drone no-fly zones in Hungary

Why canfly? does not carry these zones

HungaroControl publishes Hungary's zones as map tiles - pictures of the zones rather than the zones themselves. The underlying vector data requires a login. Hungary also runs a mandatory flight-notification app, MyDroneSpace, which is the authoritative check.

Who publishes Hungary's drone zones?

Under Regulation (EU) 2019/947, Article 15, every EU and EEA state must define and publish its UAS geographical zones - the areas where drone flight is prohibited, restricted, or requires authorisation. The regulation says the zones must be published; it does not say in what format, or under what licence. That is why coverage across Europe is so uneven, and why Hungary is not on the canfly? map.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fly a drone in Hungary?

Yes, under the EU-wide rules in Regulation (EU) 2019/947 - the same operator registration, remote-ID and open/specific/certified categories that apply across the EU and EEA - but you must stay clear of Hungary's UAS geographical zones. canfly? does not carry those zones, because Hungary does not publish its drone zones in machine-readable form - they exist as maps, images or PDF documents. Check them against HungaroControl (Hungary) before you fly. The official source is https://www.hungarocontrol.hu/.

Where do I check drone no-fly zones in Hungary?

Why doesn't canfly? show Hungary's drone zones?

HungaroControl publishes Hungary's zones as map tiles - pictures of the zones rather than the zones themselves. The underlying vector data requires a login. Hungary also runs a mandatory flight-notification app, MyDroneSpace, which is the authoritative check.

Does Hungary publish machine-readable drone-zone data?

No. As of 2026-07-11, Hungary publishes its drone restrictions as maps, images or documents rather than as a dataset, so no application can read them automatically. canfly? tracks this for every EU and EEA state at https://canfly.io/coverage.
